University of Torino - Faculty of Law

The University of Torino was founded in 1404. Today, the University has 70,000 students, 1,300 professors and nearly 800 researchers and assistants. Renowned for its tradition in legal education, the University of Torino carries out several international initiatives with foreign universities, governmental and intergovernmental institutions, including the International Training Center of the International Labour Organization (ITC-ILO), with which it offers acluster of international Master's programs including the Master of Laws Program in Intellectual Property (LL.M).

 

WIPO Worldwide Academy

The WIPO Worldwide Academy, founded in March 1998, is a division of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) in Geneva mandated by its 183 Member States to provide intellectual property (IP) education, training and research for human resource development. Since 1998, more than 60,000 students have participated in its five Programs namely, Professional Development, Policy Development, Education Degree/Diploma, Research and Distance Learning. It responds to demand for degree, custom-made, policy-making in IP education and offers strategic IP education such as distance learning in several languages Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish.

 
International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization

The International Labour Organization (ILO) is part of the United Nations System of Specialised Agencies created in 1919. It aims at the promotion of social justice and internationally recognized human and labour rights. The ITC-ILO is the training arm of the ILO is basedin Torino, where thousands of professionals from all over the world meet to exchange their knowledge and experience every year. The ITCILO has extensive expertise in organizing and structuring postgraduate level educational programmes. The LL.M in Intellectual Property, the Postgraduate Course on International Trade Law, the Master in Management of Development, and the Master in Cultural Projects for Development are among the world-renowned programsorganized by the ITC-ILO.

 

Support and Contributions for the LL.M. in Intellectual Property

The LL.M. in Intellectual Property is supported by the Italian Government - Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Italian Development Cooperation. Further financial contribution is made by a number of private entitites and foundations such as the Compagnia di San Paolo, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio, Torino Bar Association, Studio Jacobacci and COREP.
